Sat, December 6, 2003 - 9:47 AMI used to play trade wars every day over a 2-3 year time span. I cannot say that about any other game. It was totaly addictive.

Fri, January 9, 2004 - 9:11 PMFunny you should mention Trade Wars. I just got the internet/lan version of Trade Wars Gold (server). Believe it or not there are still quite I few people that still play it, still write scripts to automate some of the tasks, and still devote some time every day to "using up some turns before I lose them". -

Thu, January 22, 2004 - 5:07 PMI liked writting the scripts. It was sort of a battle of technology. You where given certain information, and resources, and what you made of them was up to you. You learn to write a script and then got on and tested it. If it worked, then you had an advantage you didn't have before. If it didn't, you wasted turns, or worse stranded ships or even yourself!

Tue, March 30, 2004 - 10:15 AMI remember back at E3 a few years ago seeing a new version of TW2003. It was online multi-player with 3D graphics and an PRG like feel. You still navigated through space and whatnot, but I think it switched to the RPG interface for planets and whatnot. I have not heard anything about this since.
Gawd I would love to run a copy of TW2003 on my linux box and open it up to the world. :-) Bring on the memories! -

Thu, August 12, 2004 - 5:38 AMWow...haven't heard of a 3D version. Am running the latest version of the Tradewars game server. It's a lot of fun editing planets, ships etc. when setting up the games and just as much fun playing :) I am an olllllllld TW addict lol!
